Read on for an update on the construction at Norome Resorts and Villas--and a last-chance opportunity as less than a dozen sandy beachfront lots are released just across Lake Apoyo.

New Digs--You're Invited!

Friday, July 15, 2005
Lake Apoyo, Nicaragua

Dear International Living Reader,

After months of work and cooperation with the government, the road to Norome Resort and Villas is being paved as I write. Workers are out in droves. The soft forest sounds of birds and the low growl of howler monkeys are--temporarily--drowned out by shouted directions and trucks on the move as Norome gears up for the Grand Opening of their new Conference Facilities--just in time for our Live and Invest in Nicaragua Seminar, taking place August 3-5.

This year we wanted a venue in a peaceful setting, a place for attendees to wind down and better absorb the reams of information covered at the conference. A place where you can relax and find solitude, with nature all around… yet still be close to the action.

Norome Resort fits this description like no other venue in Nicaragua. Sitting in the shadow of Volcan Mombacho, one of Nicaragua's volcanic mountains, Norome has breathtaking views of the volcanic crater lake and pristine forest surrounding it. Being here takes me back to playing in my tree-house as a kid… but this tree-house is quite a bit more upscale than sleeping bags and Coleman lanterns!

Despite the serene natural setting, Norome is only about half an hour from Granada, the oldest city in the Americas and home to some of the most beautifully restored Colonial buildings in the country. (In fact, we'll be bringing attendees into Granada for a brief tour and to sip cocktails in a couple of its fabulously-restored buildings.)

The location is ideal, but until now, the resort did not have adequate room to accommodate an IL conference. But when the expansion work is finished, IL's conference will be the first major event held in the new facilities--and we're going to help Norome celebrate in style, with lots of special guests and activities planned for attendees this year, including some of Central America's most knowledgeable experts.

I'm looking forward to staying here in August, to experience all that Norome has to offer-including and especially the howler monkeys! I usually see at least a couple of them every time I visit… and when I stay in my villa here my morning cup of rich Nicaraguan is usually accompanied by their low growls as I sit on my terrace watching the sun come up over the lake, bathing Mombacho's beauty in sunrise colors… Starting the day with such a view and listening to the monkeys and the almost cartoon-like trill of the Oropendula as they fly by, flashing their fluorescent yellow tails… these are the moments I treasure at Norome. Very soon the construction trucks will be gone… the shouting of laborers will cease… and the forest sounds will again take over.

And I'll be there to enjoy it all once more.

P.S. I hope you will join us in this beautiful location to see a fraction of the natural beauty Nicaragua has to offer. And I hope while you're here you'll take a look at the limited selection of lakefront lots recently released for sale on Laguna de Apoyo. Eduardo Latorre, who operates Norome, has released less than a dozen sandy beachfront lots across the lake. They're around an acre each, in an area where there is little for sale and what there is, well, ain't cheap. But Eduardo has priced these lots to be good value for the money.

These lots are your last chance to become a Laguna de Apoyo property owner with access to the Norome Resort facilities. And the views, as with the villas at the resort, are stunning. Sunset and volcano… sailboats on the lake… sandy Nicaraguan beachfront it doesn't get any better than this.

Hope to see you here in August--and, hey, we could end up being neighbors!
