LAX to Mexico $139…For 4 More Days Only

Getting an aerial view of Cancun just became a whole lot cheaper…

International Living Postcards--your daily escape

Friday, Aug. 25, 2006
San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

If you live in Los Angeles or on a connecting route, there has never been a better time to go to Mexico. Delta Air Lines announced last week that, in response to increasing demand, it would be adding 16 new routes from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Central America.

Delta wishes to better serve the needs of its many Hispanic clients, and, with recent surges in travel to Latin America, the new flights are welcome.

Most of the new routes will provide service to Mexico, including destinations such as Zacatecas (in the colonial highlands) for $199, Loreto and La Paz (on the Baja California peninsula) from $179, Manzanillo (on the Pacific Coast, about a five-hour drive south of Puerto Vallarta) for $199, and Culiacan for $139 (all these fares are one-way, from LAX). The airline is also planning new nonstop flights connecting Salt Lake City and Orlando with Mexico City.

New routes between LAX and Las Vegas, San Francisco, Sacramento, Oakland, and San Jose will be timed to connect with the Mexico flights. Some of the itineraries will make use of Delta connection carriers such as SkyWest airlines and AeroMexico.

In the past two years, Delta has tripled its service to Mexic it now flies to 20 Mexico destinations.

To celebrate, Delta is offering discounts during the inaugural period--buy on or before Aug. 29 to get the bargain basement price.

P.S. Why not take advantage of these great airfare deals to come down for the October 29 - 31 Live and Prosper in Mexico Seminar in San Miguel de Allende? But don't plan to go home immediately afterward…there are lots of reasons to stay, including real estate tours and "to-die-for" Day of the Dead celebrations: http://www.il-ireland.com/il/promos/mex_10_06/eletter.html
