Bulgaria Beats Italy For Second Home Buyers Paris, France May 29, 2007 Do you know where the British are now looking for their second homes? A report published this month by the Association of International Property Professionals (AIPP) states that while Spain and France are still seen as safe choices, Bulgaria now beats the U.S. as the third most popular choice for UK property buyers No longer an emerging property market, Bulgaria cornered 7.7% of the overseas market in 2006 according to the report. Spain maintains its continued appeal, attracting 31.6% of UK buyers, with France in second place with 18.9%, and Bulgaria has now ousted the US. (7.5%) for third place. Italy (2.8%) comes fifth. Despite rumors of oversupply and little local demand, there's no doubt that Bulgaria has a lot to offer if you're looking for an affordable European vacation-or an investment in the growing tourism industry.
