Fly to Costa Rica For $149 You now have more ways to get to Lake Arenal
and every other place in Costa Rica.
International Living Postcards--your daily escape Tuesday, June 5, 2007 Flying to Costa Rica from the U.S. just became easier and, at least for a while, more affordable.
Frontier Airlines has announced it will begin flying from Denver, Colorado, to Costa Rica four times a week beginning Nov. 30, with introductory fares starting at $298 roundtrip. Denver-based Frontier is the only airline to fly direct between Denver and Costa Rica. (It also offers flights to Mexico and Canada.) The roundtrip flights from Denver to Juan Santamaría International Airport, just northwest of San José, will operate Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, according to the airline's website. Introductory fares begin at $149 each way, not including taxes and fees. [Ed. note: Just in time for International Living's Live and Prosper in Costa Rica Seminar in November. In other news, Spirit Airlines has received the go-ahead to open a route between Los Angeles and San José (according to the Costa Rican Tourism Institute, the ICT). This was the final step necessary for this budget airline to begin flying here three times a week. The airline began flying to Costa Rica from Fort Lauderdale at the end of April, and the success of this flight piqued its interest in opening more routes to Costa Rica.
